Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam memorial Design competition

A competition was floated by Faculty of Architecture, Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow on 07th September'15. 

Brief of competition: The new campus of technical university aspires to imbibe the virtues of the personality of Late A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. To translate this into a tangible entity the university is dedicating a space for installing statues of great scientists of India in the newly constructed library structure and developing the adjoining central court. The goal is to inspire a design that will be both an exemplary museum of the twenty-first century and an internationally recognized symbol of Science.


The winning proposal will be incorporated in the new campus of UPTU by the Faculty of Architecture consultancy team, along with a prize money Rs. 25,000/-

1st runner up – Rs. 15,000/-

2nd runner up – Rs. 10,000/-


3rd and 4th runner up - Rs. 05,000/-


Result announced on 30th October'15 and published in newspaper on 01st Oct'15 (Thursday).

First Prize: Faculty of Architecture, UPTU ( GCA Lucknow) - Anurag Sharma, Siddharth Singh , Aisha Anam and Rohan Maheshwari

Second Prize: Apeejay School of Architecture and Planning - Alvera Naushad and Siddharth Gupta

Third Prize : Faculty of Architecture, UPTU (GCA Lucknow) - Sweety Katiyar

Consolation Prize 1 - MET, Moradabad - Pallavi Banerjee, Rupal, Ronak Kapoor and Shivangi Kapoor

Consolation Prize 2 - Apeejay School of Architecture and Planning - Astha Verma

Jury Members Comprised of : Prof D.C. Thapar, Ar. KK Asthana and Ar. Ashok Kumar
